fig. 1.1 ; my house view

I took picture of my house at night because we are not allowed to go out during CMCO. Therefore, I started to sketch out my house.

Sketch:
fig.1.2 ; sketch

After sketching, I tried to use this idea to produce some design with different principles that we had learned in the pass few weeks. I used Photoshop to draw out the outcome.

Outcome:

fig.1.3 ; alignment

fig.1.4 ; contrast

fig.1.5 ; balance

fig.1.6 ; harmony and unity

fig.1.7 ; movement

Lecturer's feedback:
Take more picture with different angle. The idea must come out with interpreting more feelings of the place.

Additional Photography:

fig. 2.1 ; different angle of my house

I observed my house to get more idea for this project. However, I tried to capture the moment with a good sunlight and angle. After that, I had an idea for the picture below so I started to draw out in Photoshop.

fig.2.2 ; outside view of my window

fig.2.3 ; second outcome

After drawing the background, I added two birds sitting on the tree and someone cycling pass by the road. There are always some birds flying or resting and someone passed by from here but it's very difficult to capture that moment. Therefore, I draw out this ordinary view every time I saw from this window. But I don't think this is work for the final outcome.

fig. 3.1 ; third outcome

As the feedback given by lecturer, I tried to interpret what I feel for my house. Therefore, I used the third outcome to add some graphic elements to show out the sense of security and warm of my house.

Suddenly, I had a new idea to interpret my house. I watched a famous comedy drama ' UP ' few years ago. There was a part which the character tied with thousand of balloons to his house to fulfill his dream to see the world. Consequently, I use this idea to draw my house.

fig. 4.2 ; forth outcome

Lecturer's Feedback:
Combine pictures I had taken together to express the feeling. Show out more design with different principle. The most important is the interpretation of the design.

fig. 4.3 ; fifth outcome

As the feedback given by lecturer, I combined some photo I taken of my house with the forth outcome together. However, I designed three more outcome. I feel excited with the third design so I chose that one as my final outcome.

fig. 4.4 ; chosen design

Lecturer's Feedback:
the last design looks more promising. Could you move the tree (on the right) more to the right so we see less of it, creating more space around the floating house.

fig. 4.5 ; final outcome

Rationale:
During the Covid-19 pandemic, everyone was under MCO which means are not allowed to gathering or travel around the world. The street have lesser car than normal day and it looks very deserted. I love to exploring something new but during this under control period the only safe place I can go is staying at home. Instead of just staying at home, I wish I can go out with my house by flying up to the sky and go anywhere I want to like the movie did. This will be more safe and economic but this was just a dream.
