Week 9 :
Project 2
Next I draw a head in Photoshop first, then copy and paste another 11 heads for the drawing. Below is my outcome :
After this, I imported them into Adobe Animate and started to draw out the character using pen tool.
As what lecturer had mentioned in today's lecture class, we need to draw a background that we think it is suitable for the animation. Therefore, I decided to draw a bedroom, which inspired from the movie Frozen. The reason is because I wanted to make it like she wants to play but her parents want her to sleep because it is too late already. Aside from that, I continue to animate and add more keyframes between each poses.
Week 10 ( 02/06/2021 )
I tried to add more keyframes and all the 12 principles that lecturer had mentioned, but I not sure why it still looks not smooth. It wasn't as easy as I thought before I start to animate. I checked each keyframes and drawings many time but it still looks not smooth enough. I sent the file to lecturer to check where is the problem.
Lecturer's Feedback :
Based on the feedback and notes given by lecturer, I tried to improve all the issues and it looks much more better now. Although it wasn't perfect but I really tried my best to make it smoother and better. From this project, I learned to check and plan each frames properly before starting to do an animation. Finally, I'm quite happy with my final outcome.

INSTRUCTION
LECTURES
Week 7 :
Week 8 :
No lecture due to Independent Learning Week.
Week 9 :
Week 7 ( 12/05/2021 )
We are required to animate a Character Acting Animation and Lip Sync with Adobe Animate, using the finalized character design from Film Studies & Cinematography or character based on original designs made for the Animation Fundamentals module.
Submission format :
- Adobe Animate work file (Video Ratio/Render Size Setting: 1280 x 720p, 25 Frames per second)
- MOV/MP4 file.
- A JPEG Image of the character's expression sheet in black and white (Just the facial expressions, no need body!)
First of all, I was considering which audio should I use for this project. After listening many times for the audio provided in Google Classroom. I decided to find a audio for my character by myself. I use the song 'Do You Wanna Build a Snowman' from Frozen and convert it into MP3. After this, I import into Adobe Audition and cut out the part I want to use for this Project. Below is the audio.

Subsequently, I decided to draw the character's expression first. Before I start, I tried to search some references from Pinterest. Below is the reference I use for the face expression.

Lecturer's Feedback :
The face expression is good. I can proceed to the animation.
Week 8 ( 19/05/2021 )
First of all, I sketched each poses of the character according to the chosen dialogue first.
After this, I imported them into Adobe Animate and started to draw out the character using pen tool.

Week 9 ( 26/05/2021 )As what lecturer had mentioned in today's lecture class, we need to draw a background that we think it is suitable for the animation. Therefore, I decided to draw a bedroom, which inspired from the movie Frozen. The reason is because I wanted to make it like she wants to play but her parents want her to sleep because it is too late already. Aside from that, I continue to animate and add more keyframes between each poses.
Lecturer's Feedback :
I think your poses are fine but the one where her hands are up, can improvise a bit. When you are doing the animation, please remember to add anticipation and overlapping or slow in/out work. If you're not sure about anticipation and overlapping or slow in/out, look at the lecture slides again. However, based on your key poses, I think maybe a slow out at the end would be good. Try animating the rest first yea.
Overall is ok but if you want to improve on the smoothness, you can check some notes I point out here :

Reflection :
This project wasn't as easy as I thought before I start animating. This time, I checked each symbol properly before I start to animate, but I didn't planned each keyframe's timing and this causes the animation looks not smooth. I felt that the audio was too short and so I couldn't animate too many poses in this little time. Another lesson I learned from this project was I should planned each keyframes properly first before I start to animate. Although sometimes I still forgot to create symbol for each separated part, but I keep on reminding myself to check check check. The final outcome wasn't perfect but I learned a lot and tried my best. I will do better for my next project !
